Employment
One of the larger business goals at San Juan Outfitters is to provide a meaningful employment experience to both aspiring and experienced outdoor professionals. We’re proud of our history of employing and developing some of the industry’s top kayak guides, naturalists, and outdoor professionals.
Jobs with San Juan Outfitters vary from entry level apprentice guides and reservation staff to professional guides and naturalists. Throughout a busy season our employees keep their jobs new and exciting by learning and performing many of the different tours and activities available to our guests.
The average retention rate of our staff is over six years, and the average rate of return of our employees is 85%. We know this loyalty represents the value we place on our guides and the high quality experience we provide.
The length of employment varies each season, but typically lasts 4-6 months between May and September. Employees are required to work 5-6 days/week during the peak season June-September with few exceptions.
