Kayak Tours 5-hour Orca Search by Kayak
You will have a great experience kayaking the San Juan Islands. Our 5-hour orca search by kayak is designed for experienced paddlers and/or people that are somewhat athletic. Expect to be paddling about 4 of the 5 hours. The tour does make stops along the way to view wildlife while in the kayak. Someone with little upper body strength may find this kayak tour a bit too rigorous.
At the dock, the tour starts with a professinal guide assisting you with kayak gear. Then your guide will give a brief paddle and safety talk.
This kayak tour also usually sees bald eagles, harbor seals, and all types of unusual sea birds. When the tide is right, you might discover colorful tide pool critters. You guide will tell you a bit about each one.
There are magnificent panoramic views of surrounding mountains and other islands. Plus, the shorelines you will pass by are a delight to the eye.
Sea Kayaking with Killer Whales (Orcinus Orca)
The San Juan Islands are considered the best place in the world to kayak with Orca Whales (Orcinus Orca) in the wild. Our 5-hour Orca Search By Kayak, departing from the west side and north side of San Juan Island, offers our guests the best opportunity to observe these killer whales in the wild.

We are the only sea kayak tour company that also operates daily whale watch tours by boat.
As member of the Pacific Whale Watch Association (PWWA )and current US President, we belong to a spotting network for whale sightings. Our whale watch captains share whale information hourly with our kayak guides. This increases your chances of kayaking with Killer Whales.
Our tours are designed to offer our guests an amazing sea kayaking and wildlife experience - regardless of Killer Whales. But, your chances of seeing orca whales are best on one of San Juan Outfitter's kayak tours.
