About the San Juan Islands
The waters around San Juan Island are considered the best place in North America to view wild killer whales. Peak season for orca sightings is considered the summer months of June – September, but whales are present in the area year round. Orcas are able to travel up to 100 miles per day and our tours put you in waters that are frequented by orcas.
Our whale watch and wildlife tours also often encounter humpback whales and minke whales.
The San Juan Islands are home to Harbor Seals, Bald Eagles, Dall’s Porpoises, Otters, and invertebrate sea life like Starfish, too!
Believe it or not, the San Juan Islands receive nearly 250 days of sunshine each year and half the rainfall of Seattle! But we still recommend you bring a rain jacket just in case!
The water in the harbor is usually flat, making paddling and spotting wildlife easy! There are also great views of the nearby Olympic Mountains!
